TIFF.5 - 2006

The fifth edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival took place in Cluj-Napoca from June 2 to June 11, 2006. The festival grew visibly compared to previous editions, offering audiences more than 150 films, both features and shorts, many of them presented as Romanian premieres. Screenings took place at the Republica, Victoria and Arta cinemas, as well as outdoors, in the inner courtyard of Babeș-Bolyai University.

One of the special moments of the edition was the closing concert by Fanfara Ciocârlia, announced at the time as the band’s first concert in Romania. TIFF 2006 also inaugurated a Meeting Point on the terrace of the Cluj Art Museum, conceived as a meeting place for guests, audiences and industry professionals, with book launches, exhibitions, screenings, fashion shows and concerts. The program also included Romanian Film Days, a day dedicated to Hungarian cinema, sections such as Supernova, Shadows, Doc’n’Roll, French Touch and No Limit, as well as the continuation of the Let’s Go Digital! workshop.
