Kati Méhes is a graduate of the “Szentgyörgyi István” Theatre Institute in Târgu Mureș (1973) and, since the same year, has been an actress of the Harag György Company at the Teatrul de Nord in Satu Mare. She quickly became one of the company’s leading performers, distinguished by a strong stage presence, a distinctive voice, and exceptional dance ability.

Throughout her career, she has performed a wide range of dramatic, comic, tragicomic, and operetta roles, developing a vibrant, playful and energetic stage style. She has worked with major directors such as Andrei Șerban, László Bocsárdi, Sorin Militaru, Attila Keresztes, Alexandre Colpacci, Miklós Parászka, and Sardar Tagirovsky. She is also known for her musical performances, including folk songs, chansons, and light music, as well as numerous solo recitals.

Even after her retirement in 2010, she continued to perform at the Satu Mare theatre and remains active in the local cultural scene, involved in the “Ady Endre” Society and in organizing the “Week of Hungarian Culture,” dedicated to preserving and promoting Hungarian cultural traditions in Satu Mare.
